So, I am in Texas. Starting my summer semester tomorrow. I have been thinking of starting a garden, but have no idea where to start. I have no clue as to how much to plant for my family of 3. Not to mention the heat here has been raging w/ a vengance. So, in the face of this, I haven't started anything. Indecision, a pain in my ass. I think I should do containers as my yard is mostly clay. But again, have no idea how much to plant. Internet research here I come!

Oh yeah, saying Texas is hot would be an understatement. Are you in college I take it? I'm starting summer classes tomorrow too. For plants, are you wanting vegetables or herbs or just pretty things? Kate |

Hello, hello,
NakotakaiaI live in Tx and have a pretty massive garden. I do like to plant in pots because you have more control and can move the plants as and if needed. Plants to get, start with what you like first, if you and your family eat alot of tomatoes then get tomato plants.
For a family of 3, 2 plants should be plenty otherwise you could end up with like 400 tomatoes. Let me know if you need help, I'll be glad to talk you through it!
